The Fire Brigade is normally the first service that people consider contacting when their cat is stuck up a tree and showing no sign of coming down by itself. However The Fire Service is overstretched and are often not able to respond to the situation. If or when they do, their only method of retrieving the cat is to use ladders but in most instances the cat has climbed to an irretrievable position on branches out of the reach of ladders.
